Meet the Principal
I am truly honored and excited to serve as the Principal of East Fannin Elementary School. It is a privilege to be part of such a special school community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our outstanding students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community partners.
My teaching journey began in 1995 in South Carolina, and over the years I have had the opportunity to serve students at every level from elementary to the collegiate level. I joined Fannin County High School in 2005 as Band Director, and after many rewarding years in the classroom, I was named Assistant Principal at West Fannin Elementary in 2024. Today, I am honored to lead East Fannin Elementary and continue serving the children and families of Fannin County.
I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from the University of Georgia, Educational Leadership endorsements from the University of North Georgia, a Master of Music Performance degree from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Furman University. I have two adult sons and a daughter, all successful graduates of the Fannin County School System. My wife Julie is a teacher as well.
Beyond my work at school, I remain actively involved in the arts and our community. I assist with WXFC 92.7 FM, the FCC-licensed radio station operated by the Fannin County School System. I also serve as president and conductor of the Tri-State Community Band, a local community band of advanced students and adults that share a love for band music. I have also been humbled to receive the FCSS Teacher of the Year Award and the Bandworld Legion of Honor.
At East Fannin Elementary, we are committed to challenge, support, and inspire every child to reach their full potential. We encourage students to embrace challenges, persevere through difficulties, and treat others with kindness and respect. Together, we strive to create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
East Fannin Elementary is a truly special and historic school, and I am proud to be part of its continuing story. I look forward to partnering with our staff, families, and community as we work together to provide a place where students love to come and learn everyday.
Meet the Assistant Principal
I’m genuinely excited to be stepping into the role of Assistant Principal here at East Fannin Elementary. I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership, and I’ve earned my Tier I Leadership Certification through Valdosta State University.
I’m passionate about helping every student grow not just in academics, but also in confidence, character, and community. I believe school should be a place where every person feels supported and inspired to do their best.
My door is always open. Whether you have ideas, suggestions, concerns, or just want to stop by and say hi, I’d love to connect. Let’s make this year one of collaboration, laughter, learning, and shared achievement together! Let's go Wildcats!
