Welcome to Positive Behavior Intervention Support!

What is Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support?

The East Fannin Elementary Positive Behavioral Support (PBIS) plan is coordinated by a team of teachers and the school administration. The team of teachers consists of grade level representatives from each grade, a special education teacher, the school counselor and an administrator. The purpose of the PBIS plan is to develop a school-wide code of conduct and reward the students that are doing what they are supposed to do. At East Fannin Elementary we are the BEST WE CAN BE by being

Respectful, Responsible and Ready to Learn

The PBIS program includes rewards for our students. They receive Dolphin Dollars and DOJOS when a staff member notices they are following our expectations and behaving properly at school.  Students collect their Dolphin Dollars/ DOJOS and get to spend them like money at the Dolphin Dollar Store.   They bring their Dolphin Dollars and buy small items that they may keep.  The Dolphin Dollar Store includes fancy pencils, novelty erasers, notebooks, folders, coloring books, etc.  Some items cost more Dolphin Dollars and children may choose to save their Dolphin Dollars until they have earned and saved enough to buy a special item.

                                                                            Working Together

Parents can support positive behavior for their child by:

1. Requesting a copy of the Expectations Matrix from their child's school.

2. Placing a copy on the refrigerator for easy reference.

3. Discussing the expectations with their child.

4. When contacted regarding a problem behavior, referring to the Matrix and discuss the correct choice that their child could have made.
